Commencement 2021

• You should arrive at the time listed for your program below. We schedule is based on the program you are graduating from.  
• You will enter TCC at the entrance on South 12^th Street (all other entrances will be closed). Follow the signs and traffic routers. You will be directed to Parking Lot A, where you will check-in and begin the parade event.  
• TCC employees will be there to celebrate and cheer you on.  
• As you drive through, your name will be announced, and you will receive a diploma cover and a customized TCC gift bag.  
• You will drive through a tunnel of cheering supporters and leave campus at the South Mildred Street entrance.  

• Please arrive at the time your academic program is scheduled below.  If you arrive early you will have to go through the parade at that time, there will be no waiting area.
  
  

• You will still be able to participate, but this may cause a delay for you. Please make every effort to arrive at your slotted time.  

• Yes, but we have limited space left! Please email Sonja Morgan if you would like to attend the parade but did not sign up, as soon as possible. 

More than 400 students are pre-registered to attend the parade. 

• Graduates will enter TCC at the South 12^th Street entrance. They will turn left and drive around campus, past the gym, and stop in Parking Lot A for check-in.  
• After staff signals them to proceed, graduates will drive around the roundabout in front of Buildings 15 and 16 and drive through B and turn right into C.  
• Employees will line up in middle rows of parking spaces in C and cheer on grads as they drive up in front of Building 13. Grads will stop here between the parking lot “islands,” hand their name card to be read, and receive a diploma cover and quick photo, all while remaining in the vehicle.  
• Grads will continue to drive through C with employees cheering them. Grads will leave at the South Mildred Street exit.

• The plan is to move 90 students (cars) through the parade per hour. Tacoma Police Department and Allied Universal event staffing agency will assist us with traffic flow and safety protocols.  

• Due to the high demand, we are allowing one car per student. You are allowed to have family members/friends in your car if they follow safety limits and wear seatbelts.  

• Meet us at the stairwell at Parking Lot A (the stairwell that leads into campus) during your time slot, and we will drive you through the parade. You will be allowed to bring one guest. 

• We are following the Department of Health guidelines, and they do not allow any type of congregation at this event. We are asking students to drive into the parade and exit afterwards. 

• Two sets of ADA portable restrooms and handwashing stations will be located in Lots K and N for graduate use.
