The college enrolls approximately 11,000 students annually and is located on a 150-acre site in west Tacoma. The Tacoma-Pierce County area, located on beautiful Puget Sound and framed by the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, offers residents and visitors a wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities. The city of Seattle is located 35 miles north of Tacoma.

Tacoma Community College will now require COVID-19 vaccination or exemption verification for all new employees. Requirements are as follows:
- New employees must provide self-attestation information and coordinate with Human Resources to complete visual verification of vaccination documents.
- If the new employee claims a religious or medical exemption to the vaccination requirement, they must self-attest the exemption and it must be fully approved before the employee can work.
- Newly vaccinated employees must not work before 14 days after their last vaccination was received.
