Policy

Student records shall be maintained in conformance with provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the US Department of Education regulations

Official transcripts of a student’s academic record will be issued at the individual’s request upon proof of identity and sent to other educational institutions and prospective employers.

All transcript records shall be protected from fire and vandalism.  Limitation of access to authorized personnel shall be strictly enforced.  The college shall also safeguard the integrity of and prevent unauthorized external access to electronic data maintained by the college.

Purpose

Compliance with FERPA, US Department of Education and Accreditation standards.

To Whom Does This Policy Apply

All individuals registered for classes at Tacoma Community College.
