Health Information Technology (HIT) Admissions Process

  1. Apply to TCC.

  2. Complete the HIT Virtual Information Session.  The Virtual Information Session provides background on the HIT profession, TCC's HIT program and steps for getting started.

  3. Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor to plan your classes.

  4. Complete the following prerequisite courses with an earned grade of C or higher prior to beginning HIT courses:
    * ENGL&101, English Composition I
    * HIT 105, Comprehensive Medical Terminology
    OR HIT 130, Medical Terminology I AND HIT 131, Medical Terminology II
    * CU 103, Excel I
    OR CU 105, Word I/Excel I
