Things to do before applying to the TCC Radiologic Science program.


For general information about previous admission requirements and selection processes, please download the Radiologic Science Program Application Packet (pdf).  Please know the information in this packet is subject to change.

Before you apply to the Radiologic Science program, you must complete the following prerequisites:

1. Evidence of completion of the 7 specific prerequisite courses with a grade of C (2.0) or better in each course.

2. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, based on the 7 prerequisite classes. 

Note: It is strongly recommended Math and Science prerequisites are completed within 5-7 years.

TMATH 100 for the Health Services (recommended)
or MATH 95 Intermediate Algebra (or higher)
CHEM& 121* Chemical Concepts w/Lab
or equivalent
ENGL& 101 English Composition I or equivalent 5
BIOL& 241** Human Anatomy and Physiology I
or 5 credits of course equivalent
BIOL& 242 Human Anatomy and Physiology II
or 5 credits of course equivalent
HIT 130 Medical Terminology 3

CMST& 101 Introduction to Communication
or CMST 110 Multicultural Communication

or CMST& 210 Interpersonal Communication
or CMST& 220 Public Speaking


*Chem 110 will no longer be accepted as a Radiologic Science prerequisite unless it was completed before Fall 2018.  

**There are additional prerequisites for BIOL& 241, which are CHEM& 121 and BIOL& 160 (this is a requirement for students attending Tacoma Community College only).
