One of my favorite LC lectures...
I love talking about the mind/brain connection and how mindfulness helps us to manage stress and to be healthier, happier people. Students quickly make connections, apply these ideas to their lives, and share what they are learning with their friends and family. I love this because I want our classroom experience to be meaningful and useful to students.

Our ideal LC student will...
be excited to begin college and explore possibilities. It's OK to be a little nervous, too. The foundation of our class is building a strong, supportive community. We have a lot of fun together, and we go deep. Be ready to engage with your classmates, share your story, and participate in all kinds of hands-on learning. Also, know that you belong here, and we are excited to have you in CCPA.

I love teaching in this LC because...
it's a gift to witness all the ways that students grow throughout the quarter as they build confidence and recognize themselves as scholars. I love how all three courses flow together to make one incredible learning experience. I am lucky to teach with my friend, Rachelle. We build on each other's ideas, and we bring our unique selves into the class. We laugh a lot together, too! I've grown so much as a teacher and as a person by being part of this LC.

In class, I'm most likely to encourage...
imagination, celebrate my left-handedness, and keep it real.
